Barrington is an affluent Chicago suburb, known for its beautiful subdivisions and top-notch schools, which are consistently among the top in both state and national rankings. Located 32 miles northwest of Chicago, the Barrington zip code (60010) is the seventh wealthiest in the United States among those with a population of 20,000 or more. According to the 2012 Census, Barrington had a population of 10,351 and the median household income in 2011 was $94,177.

The Village of Barrington is considered the hub of activity for the 90-mile region that surrounds it and consists of the villages of North Barrington, South Barrington, Barrington Hills, Port Barrington, Lake Barrington and Tower Lakes, along with smaller areas of Inverness, Deer Park, Hoffman Estates and Carpentersville.

There are a variety of fun activities to experience in Barrington, Illinois or you can choose to take a quick Metra train into the city to enjoy all that Chicago has to offer.  Barrington’s Village Center includes 117 specialty retailers and 40 restaurants. The historic Catlow Theatre offers movies in a fun setting. Outdoor recreation includes parks, horse and hiking trails and forest preserves.

The charming Village of Barrington also offers a variety of special events throughout the year such as cruise nights every Thursday evening from Memorial Day through Labor Day as well as the Barrington Community Talent Show, Scarecrow Festival, Fourth of July Festival, Art Festival, and Concours d’Elegance.

Lake Barrington Shores, Barrington. This premier, gated community includes 1,317 condominiums. Nestled in the countryside of Barrington and spread over 510 acres, Lake Barrington Shores features a 96-acres lake and includes activities for individuals of all ages.

Wynstone North, Barrington. This elite community is located on a Jack Nicklaus golf course and is breathtaking with its unique combination of nature and exquisite architecture. Timberlake Estates, Barrington. In 1953 Timberlake Estates was created and the first home was built in 1955.
